On the Road for Vinyl: Bristol,VA

Sessions 27 record store in  Bristol,VA
My love of vinyl has evolved into seeking out local records stores when I'm travelling and specifically if they have vinyl.  Maybe there has always been vinyl available but all signs point to the fact that there has been an upsurge in demand...thus more vinyl sold in stores!

Sessions 27 in Bristol,Va had been mentioned to me by my mother in law so last weekend we were in town and decided to check it out.  They carry new and used vinyl as well as CDs.

What an awesome record store! At first you might think there's not loads and loads of vinyl to look through, but as soon as you start flipping you'll notice that every single record is quality and popular stuff.  This record store does not junk itself up and waste time with just any records...it has the ones we're all looking for...or maybe just what I'm looking for.  Some examples are Ray Charles, The Who,Grateful Dead,The Beatles,Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.  These were in abundance and at some of the best prices I've ever seen.

When we were ready to check out they packaged all our records in these cardboard boxes to keep them safe.  I left with many great finds and will have a lot to listen to over the next few weeks, but I'll be back the next time we head up I-81 to Abingdon and I'm stopping in at Sessions 27!
Oh yeah...my wife has been looking all over Knoxville for Amy Winehouse's CD Back to Black and we couldn't find it anywhere.  Sessions 27 not only had Back to Black but had Amy's first CD Frank too! A little town like Bristol,VA showing some solid chops in music retail!

Here's their address and you can find them online here at their Facebook page
