You know, I've been making mixtapes for as long as I've had a tape recorder to place in front of the radio. The techniques have gotten quite a bit more sophisticated over the years, but the intent of sharing musical discoveries, and the passion (obsession?) with crafting just the right mix has remained the same.
Each of us here at Showbiz Kids has a long and storied history with the arts and sciences of a carefully - nay, lovingly - crafted mix. We consider it both a basic expression of thoughts and feelings, and a highly evolved art form. And quite frankly we are not willing to call it quits on that musical love letter: the mixtape.
It's with the same joy and giddiness that we present the first in what what is hoped to be a long running series: The Showbiz Kids Mixtape.
For the first, we thought it would be fun to trot out some cover songs. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
