On the Fleet Foxes' sophomore release, Helplessness Blues, the harmonies are bright, the acoustic instrumentation is inviting and the band channels the sounds of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and the Beach Boys to serve up a beautiful Seventies sounding blend of folk and rock.
Admittedly, I was so stoked about the release of the new Beastie Boys' album that I overlooked this release. After sitting down and listening to Helplessness Blues a second time, I found myself purchasing the album on vinyl and am enjoying it more and more each spin.
