On the turntable this Sunday...The Waterfall

The Waterfall is the seventh studio album by American indie rock band My Morning Jacket. It was announced by the band on March 2, 2015, and released on May 4 through ATO Records; under license to Capitol Records for North America. The record was co-produced by Jim James and Tucker Martine. The album's first single, "Big Decisions", was released on March 2. The second single, "Spring (Among the Living)" was released on March 31, 2015. On April 1, the band put up an April Fool's Day "prank" with The Waterfall album cover and a link to the whole album, for one day only. On April 4, 2015, the entire album leaked on to the internet.

In December 2014, My Morning Jacket announced that they were working on two new albums. One is to be released in 2015 (which would later be announced as The Waterfall) and the other is to be released in 2016. Lead singer and songwriter Jim James told Rolling Stone that the band had recorded 24 "solid contenders" for the two albums.  He also said the band had no intention of making the collection a double album.

The Waterfall received positive reviews from most music critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 76, based on 22 reviews, which indicates "generally favorable reviews".
