Premiere of George Harrison: Living In The Material World on HBO tonight!

Martin Scorsese's documentary on George Harrison premiere's tonight in the US on HBO at 9pm.  There are some reviews out that you can read, but if you're a Beatles fan and a fan of George the reviews aren't important.  Apparently there will be unseen home video footage, photos and Olivia Harrison gives insight to the 1999 home invasion when George was stabbed.  Its a two part series on HBO finishing tomorrow.

George has always been my favorite Beatle member and my second favorite Beatle musically.  I would stare at the back of the Rubber Soul album and daydream of being one of them.  Obviously there was no Internet in the late 70s and early 80s and they had long since broken up.  So there wasn't much of them to see in current magazines or images other than what was on their albums.  I would take what I could get and the mixture of The Monkees on TV and my imagination was a desperate substitute to the longing of this young 5th Beatle in Atlanta, Georgia.

"And Your Bird Can Sing" April 26th 1966

Dovetailing the ShowbizKids entry from this morning, Rolling Stones Singles (1971-2006) it is a coincidence that on this day in 1966 the final album version of "And Your Bird Can Sing" from Revolver was recorded.  I think not...maybe it is just another way for me to work in a Beatles reference.  However there is some speculation that John's "bird" reference in this song is to Mick's girlfriend at the time Marianne Faithful. lyric connection to Mick Jagger.
