Tom Petty’s Hypnotic Eye Tops Charts (jambands.com)

Tom Petty has earned his first number one album with 2014’s Hypnotic Eye, which topped the Billboard 200 charts. Petty’s 13th album with his band The Heartbreakers moved 131,000 copies in its first week, making it the best performing Petty record since his 1994 effort Wildflowers.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 13th studio album, Hypnotic Eye, will be released July 29 via Reprise Records. Nearly a week before its release date, the album is now available to stream via NPR.

Tom Petty Adds New Dates, Cancels Other Shows

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have added a few dates to their tour with Steve Winwood, while cancelling a few others. The band axed their previously scheduled gigs in Kansas City, MO and Lincoln, NE to make time for a two-night run at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on September 30 and October 1.
