Allman Brothers Open Beacon Theatre Run (jambands.com)

The Allman Brothers band kicked off what will likely be their final residency at New York City’s famed Beacon Theatre last weekend. Guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks opened the show with “Old Friend,” a song that hadn’t been played since the 2012 Beacon run. In a nod to the two guitarists forthcoming departure from the the band, the rest of ABB then made their way out to the stage for “No One To Run With.”

Allman Brothers return to the Beacon in July

Gregg Allman received a liver transplant last year to assist his recovery from a chronic hepatitis C infection. As a result he is taking this moment to announce a special benefit concert set for July 27 at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.

July the 27th is the eve of World Hepatitis Day and Allman will raise awareness as well as proceeds through a performance by the Allman Brothers Band. The group returned to the Beacon after a year’s absence this past March and has only performed two other this year, both of which took place at the Wanee Festival.

Tickets will go on sale today at 12:00 PM EDT.
